Position :  MTT Team Leader

Duty Station :  Muthanna 

Function Prerequisite:

The BAC Team Leader is part of a team conducting risk education, survey and/or clearance of Explosive Remnants of War. The Team Leader is in charge of the team and responsible for the team management, deployment of team members in the field, team equipment and safety. The Site Supervisor needs to be capable of living/working in tent and camp setting five nights in duration and manage the team.

General Responsibilities:

  • Work within the framework of NPA core values
  • Act as an ambassador for NPA, through professionalism and conduct
  • Adhere to all NPA policies, regulations and procedures
  • Maintain and care for all equipment issued by NPA and for any loss or damage, you will be liable for repair or replacement
  • Follow all verbal and/or written instructions, unless in direct violation of safety and duty of care
  • Ensure a safe workplace and protect all staff and equipment from damage/ injury

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety for all team members during transport between base and on site.
  • Ensure survey and clearance operations are conducted as per NPA Iraq SOP.
  • Ensure that all Searchers have the required tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Instruct each operator where to work and the tools and procedures to use.
  • Remain in the working area with the Searchers at all times when the team is working.
  •  Supervise the correct application of procedures by all team members.
  • Follow and deploy the team as instructed by the Site Supervisor.
  • Conduct QA/QC checks as instructed by the Site Supervisor.
  • Report all safety concerns immediately to their Site Supervisor.
  • Produce accurate maps and reports reflecting the daily work.
  • Ensure team driver maintains vehicle as per driver SOP and his JD.
  • Oversee and manage his team’s leave and other HR issues.
  • Other Tasks given by the Site Supervisor or other superior.

Required Qualifications:

Must have

  • Demining/BAC course
  • Manual Driver’s license

Desirable

  • EOD Qualification
  • Secondary degree

Experience:

Must have

  • Minimum 1 year as Deminer/Searcher

Desirable

  • 3 years’ experience mine action
  • Other Qualifications:
